Randolph's Shannon Maguire nomination of
Soccer Mom Lesley Maguire
|
| One quote comes to mind when I think of the person who inspired me the most
throughout my soccer career. "Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing is going to get better.
It's not" (Dr. Sues). I did not have the opportunity to have my father around as a "soccer dad"
because he passed away when I was 14 months old. However, I was fortunate enough to have my mother around to fill
the position as my coach, mentor, best friend, and biggest supporter. Throughout the years she has not only taken
on both parenting roles, but she has been there to give me a hug after a bad game or a reality check when I need
one. She has been my support beam throughout my soccer career by taking me on 5 hour drives to tournaments, buying
$200 cleats, sitting and watching a Sunday game in the rain, and continually giving up Mother's Day. She is the
sole reason for my success in soccer and mostly for my success in life. |

of Soccer Dad Larry Schneider
|
| "Since I began playing soccer at a young age, my dad has always been
there doing whatever it took to support me and whatever made me happy. He was my chauffeur, cheerleader, personal
ATM, equipment supplier, and my biggest fan. He has been so involved and crucial to my development and growth as
a soccer player. He was there when I played, quite awfully, for my very first soccer game, cheering me on to let
me know how proud he was of me; and he is here for my last soccer game, just the same, to show me how proud he
is. Even while working multiple jobs, he always tried his hardest to make as many games as possible. I would never
have stuck with or even begun playing soccer, if it wasn't for my dad. He gave me my wings to take flight. It is
because of his nurturing support through all the years, that I continue playing my favorite sport and passion,
and that I have wind beneath my wings. He keeps me flying. He is the soccer dad of my lifetime. Thanks dad, I love
you." |

| My dad has been there by my side teaching me new skills. He is always at every
game cheering for me.. He has always been there for me even when I got hurt, which was many times. I love my dad
a lot. I know he will always be there for me. |

Randolph's Sydney Parker's
|
| If there’s one thing that my Dad has taught me, it’s to always believe in
yourself. He taught me to not focus on the strengths of the other team, but rather, focus on mine. My Dad’s evident
passion for the game has helped me develop a passion of my own. |
